Practical Questions: FAQ

How much does it cost?

My rate is $30/hour for in-person support. Each family’s situation is unique, which is why I offer flexibility in terms of scheduling, as well as considerations for financial need. Part-time support is better than none at all, and the free consultation is the perfect time to discuss your needs.

Note to friends and family:

Doula care is a really great registry gift!!

What about COVID-19?

I am fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19, and always follow infection prevention measures such as mask-wearing and hand washing while in your home. I do my best to ensure your safety and mine, but if you are not comfortable or an illness occurs, virtual care is still an option.

What areas do you serve?

What if my baby comes early?

I currently offer in-person postpartum doula care to families in the area of Leeds Grenville county, from Gananoque to Kemptville, as well as Brockville, Perth and Smiths Falls, ON.  My virtual services are available to families across Canada.

Babies have their own timelines, and that is why I am committed to your family, on-call, ready to go, two weeks before your due date. Any earlier than that is subject to my availability, but I will seek out other sources of support (i.e. a back-up doula) for you should it be required.

Do you work overnights?

I currently do not offer full-time overnight support, due to the needs of my own family. I can, however, offer assistance with evenings (6pm-11pm), that special time of day when newborns often struggle to settle — known to some as the “witching hour”.

Do you offer birthing/labour support?

My training covers the postpartum period only (for now). I can offer resources and referrals for birth and labour support, so please don't hesitate to get in touch.
